IMAGINE

"You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one... I hope someday you'll join us... And the world will be as one"
- John Lennon
Maybe I was lucky to be a Davaoena. The closest I could get to war is when my sibs and I are fighting over the last piece of M&M's candy. And that was two decades ago. My city is a living testimony of how people with different beliefs, religions and ideologies can coexist harmoniously. I grew up alongside Moslems, fellow Christians and an occassional Buddhist in their safron robes. Don't believe me? Book a ticket to the home of the Philippine Eagle.
It is one of the things I take pride on being a member of this peaceful community.
If only the same thing can happen anywhere else in this planet then maybe this world could have been a better place. Easier said than done right? Not exactly. World peace starts with ourselves. Remember the movie "Pay it forward"? A random act of kindness and a sincere smile is enough to make a big difference. And speaking of differences, one of the things I love about the digital age is that the younger people are starting to embrace cultural and racial diversity through the world wide web. Imagine how the world would have been half a century ago when the internet had existed. Sometimes, we all have alot to learn from the younger generation.
If there is one thing that history has taught us all, well... most of us maybe... it is that "War does not determine what's right. It determines what is left." Punny but very true.

Your sense of being non judgementally broadminded here makes me think. I am impressed. This is a nice hub, count me as a fan!
Oh, and its okay to have diffferent views. Life allows that! Viva la difference! I should know...
You were lucky in your childhood. Too bad everyone can't be so open minded.
Overall, it was a nice read. Liked your other hubs too. Joining your fanclub and would like to invite you to join mine. :)
